the County of Shropshire

Shropshire. For those who love beautiful countryside, fascinating historic towns and villages, folklore and traditions, Shropshire has it all. It is also a quiet mainly rural county, unspoilt by the hectic pace of modern life.
My husband and I live in a beautiful area ourselves, the New forest, but we also love to visit Shropshire, to see its ancient towns and to walk its 'blue remembered hills'

My wife and I recently spent three days in Shropshire, staying in the beautiful town of Ludlow. It is one of my favourite counties. The hills - The Long Mynd and Clee Hill - are spectacular, as are the views. The food and drink are spectacular. I would recommend 'The Wheatsheaf' in Ludlow for food and drink, and 'The Mount' guest house to stay in.
