Ludlow Castle, Ludlow.
This shows the Keep, the entrance bridge and the ditch seen from Mortimer's tower.
The people looking over the top edge of the Keep give an idea of scale. Access to the top is given by a typical narrow medieval spiral stone stairway.

Ludlow Castle, Ludlow.
This shows the interior of the nave of the Round Chapel seen through the larger of the two archways. This arch was the entrance to the chancel which has since been demolished.
The Norman decoration round the inside of the arch can be seen.

Ludlow Castle, Ludlow.
This shows the smaller of the two archways, looking through to the larger arch, and would have been the entrance to the chapel. The date of the chapel is uncertain but may have been 12th century.
What a wonderfully decorated arch this is!
