Maendu Well, Brecon, Brecknockshire.

Maendu Well showing the general area with the outflow channel on the right of the path.
This shows a map of the area.
This whole area is maintained by volunteers from the local community and they do it very well (No pun intended).
Comment |

The area around Maendu Well is generally saturated with water and there are smaller springs in places other than the enclosed well.
You can see free water on the ground at the bottom of this view together with a profusion of Buttercups which like wet ground.
Comment |

Another wild flower that likes wet ground is Ragged Robin of which there is a profusion here too.

The Maendu Well Building next to the path with the opening on the right of the building. The dark opening on the left of the path and at the bottom of the building is the overflow outlet.

This shows the Well interior with the overflow opening on the left. The water here is about a foot deep and is very clear.
