Stowe Gardens, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England

The building of Stowe House, one of England's stately homes, was started in the late 17th century, and the house is seen here across the Octagon Lake. Access to the interior of Stowe House is restricted so, if you are particularly interested in seeing the interior, check before you go.
The house has undergone many transformations over the years both internal and external.

The Temple of Concord and Victory is probably the first monument that you will see after entering the gardens and the other important building in the vicinity is the tearooms.

Walking roughly south between the temple and the tearooms you will reach the first of the two small lakes where you will see the Temple of British Worthies and the Shell Bridge.
This area is included in the 'Elysian Fields' route.

Following the path that runs between the Octagon Lake and the Eleven Acre Lake one cannot miss the sound of cascading water and a short diversion along the northern shore of the Eleven Acre Lake will bring the Cascade into view.

Walking along the south bank of the Octagon lake one cannot miss the Palladian Bridge and following the path towards the bridge will bring the Gothic Temple into view.
