Penrhyn Castle (2), Bangor, Caernarfonshire, Wales

This is the approach to the main door which is on the other side of the archway. Bearing in mind the scale of the building the main entrance is somewhat understated.

The Grand Hall seen from the higher level gallery. Typically there is plenty of Norman style decoration particularly on the arches over the pillars. At the other end of the hall (behind the camera) there are two stained glass windows which show signs of the Zodiac.
This could hardly fail to impress the original family's visitors.

The Library is another impressive room whose decoration could only be described as extravagant, as could most of the other rooms, especially with that ceiling. The 'Norman' theme is especially evident in those arches.

The Dining Room is another impressive room and that ceiling is astonishing. With that ceiling and the artworks adorning the walls one may wonder just what sort of meals would have been served in this room.

The Grand Staircase continues with the extravagant decoration theme if not more so. It seems that every surface has been decorated.
