The Gardens, Penrhyn Castle, Bangor, Caernarfonshire, Wales

The gardens at Penrhyn Castle are not large by stately homes standards but they are worth a visit. The layout is fairly simple with a formal part at the top, a more natural area below that and finally the Bog Garden at the bottom. This shows the formal Top Terrace in the Walled Garden. There are two pools here one of which is obvious and another further back opposite the Gazebo on the right.

There are steps down from each end of the formal garden into the middle section where there are some rhododenrons and azaleas of which this is one.
