The Pier, Llandudno, Caernarfonshire, Wales
The pier seen from the slopes of the Great Orme.
The pier structure can be seen to have an inverted triangular deck on the outward end.

Looking along the pier towards the outer end.
The pier was built in just over a year, was opened in 1878, and is unusual in that it does not have the normal straight deck but turns at an angle part the way along.

The Great Orme limestone cliffs from the pier.
There are some people visible walking on what appears to be a ledge. That is the marine Drive - a toll road which goes all the way round the Great Orme. Paying the toll also means, I believe, that you can park at the Great Orme summit car park free.

This view is from the enlarged deck at the outer end of the pier looking back towards the town. There is a small cafeteria on this part of the pier.
