Part the way up the path gives rather nice views on a good day. You may notice that the path has been 'stepped' to make the ascent easier for old wimps like me.

You can see just a small part of Seatown and the beach from here - so onward and upward.

Another viewpoint shows that Golden Cap is, indeed, a bit nearer. The distance on the signpost is 3/4 mile to Seatown which means that we are over halfway with a 1/2 mile to go to the top of Golden Cap but 3.5 miles still to Charmouth.

We are much higher now and really not far to the top. There is now a good view from here of the beach at Seatown. I remember a simple bench seat on the way, and I was rather thankful for it, from which this photograph may have been taken.

The Eastern End of the Summit of Golden Cap, Chideock, Dorset, England, Great Britain

At last we arrive at the top. The summit is long enough that the view east is visible only from the eastern end and likewise for the west view. This is the view from the eastern end looking east.

That concrete construction is a trigonometry point once used by the Ordnance Survey for mapping.

The western end of the summit gives us this view. Lyme Regis being in the centre of the horizon and Charmouth to the right. That means that I have 3 miles to go before I reach Charmouth.
