Lyme Regis, Dorset.
At the western end of Lyme Regis just beyond the harbour the foreshore is mainly rock. The light coloured circles on the surface of the rock are embedded ammonites (fossils) and there are lots of them. You can see Lyme Regis and the beach in the distance.

The cliffs at this point are Jurassic Blue Lias with alternating hard and soft layers. If you go exploring this far from Lyme Regis you must keep a watch for the tide as you could otherwise be cut off.
