I lived in East Bergholt from the age of seven, it was a beautiful place to be brought up in. The monks from the local monastery (now a commune opposite the church) used to wander around and were lovely to talk to (they like a pint!!). If you like history you would love an afternoon out with a wander down to Flatford (although it has been totally spoiled by tourism and greed). Get a book from the library and look at the architecture as well as the only bell cage on the ground in Europe, there is one bell in the church but Cardinal Wolsey ran out of money hence the bell cage!!
