The Victorian Arcades, Cardiff, Glamorgan.
Cardiff is known as the "City of Arcades", because of the highest concentration of Victorian, Edwardian and contemporary indoor shopping arcades in any British city.
The first arcade to be built was the Royal Arcade which was opened in 1858. Most of the Victorian Arcades are on one level but Castle Arcade has two stories and the balconies and bay windows add to the attractiveness of this arcade.
Other arcades are the High Street Arcade which is joined to Duke Street Arcade, Wyndham Arcade and Morgan Arcade.
