Walking from the Main Lake towards Queen Charlotte's Cottage we heard a rustling in the long grass and out popped this chap. He strutted around in all his finery looking as though he felt very important so we left him to it. We had heard peacocks calling in the area so it didn't come as a surprise.

We weren't in the Rhododendron Dell at the best time of year for Rhododendrons although there were a few in flower. The rather nice looking flowers on the left aren't actually flowers but bracts on a Dogwood (Cornus) so aren't even Rhododendrons either.

After walking around for a long time until you feel sure you have run out of impressive displays you suddenly stumble on something like this.

I'm fairly sure that Kew Gardens didn't arrange it but just have a look at that sky.
