In 1160 the remaining wooden structures were replaced with stone and included the building of the Curtain Wall.

View of Blorenge from Abergavenny Castle. Blorenge is a prominent hill overlooking the valley of the River Usk near Abergavenny and the summit plateau reaches a height of 1,841 feet. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
