Visitors paddling around in inflatable boats which they have brought with them. This area is easily accessible by car and there is plenty of free parking although, on a bank holiday, you may not easily find a parking space.
The obvious mountain on the skyline is the Sugarloaf.

There are a number of other much smaller ponds in the moortland around the main pond of which this is but one.
It becomes much quieter just a few yards away from the main pond.
