On the walk to Birmingham Botanical Gardens we had to pass through Edgbaston Tunnel. It is unlit but it is short enough that the light from each end is sufficient. You should be able to see the light at the far end in the picture.

We were lucky enough to have a narrowboat pass us in the tunnel. This canal is 29 miles long, has 58 locks and climbs 428 feet from Worcester to Birmingham.

This view is very near the point at which we left the canal to finish the walk to the Botanic Gardens by road.
