Peak Cavern (2), Castleton, Derbyshire Peak District, England
This is the passage at the bottom of the steps leading down from the entrance cavern. You'll notice that the roof is slowly getting lower - and it hasn't finished yet!

This passage is called Lumbago Walk and if you study the person in the distance you will see why. It is necessary, for this short stretch of passage, to bend double in order to get through but fear not - this is as low as it gets.
Peak Cavern apparently connects with Speedwell Cavern nearly a mile away.

Suddenly the cave starts to open up again and by this point, in Roger Rain's House, the roof is a long way up.
Why Roger Rain? Well - if you look to the left of the standing person and in front of the large light you may notice lots of light vertical streaks. This is dripping water although it is really more like heavy rain.

This is Pluto's Dining Room and the roof has now gone even higher - it really is a very large cavern.
A little further on from here you will be able to hear the sound of the underground stream rushing along far below. Because this cave has an active stream it sometimes has to be closed in bad weather because of flooding.
