The Area around Edale, Derbyshire Peak District, England

Walking towards Edale Head at the southern edge of the High Peak. This area is on the gritstone moors (Dark Peak) but very near the boundary with the limestone (White Peak).
Edale is at the start of the Pennine Way footpath, 268 miles long, which extends from here, through Yorkshire, and ends just over the Scottish border.
This path starts near Upper Booth and is an alternative route for the Pennine Way up Kinder Scout.

Near Edale Head, looking east towards Edale village.
The obvious track is an old medieval packhorse way and where the track disappears off the very bottom edge of the picture a small part of the sidewalls of the old packhorse bridge is just visible.

Near Edale looking along the path up to Grindsbrook Clough.
This path starts in Edale and is part of the Pennine Way which goes across Kinder Scout; a vast moorland plateau just over 2000 feet high.
