This shows the marshes between Mersea Island and the mainland at high tide. Some of the submerged vegetation can be seen just poking up above the water.

This view is from the same location as that above but at low tide. The extent of the vegetation, which is submerged in the picture above, can be clearly seen.

The main channel can be seen beyond the vegetation.
