Lady Bute's Bedroom, Castell Coch, Cardiff, Glamorgan
Lady Bute's red and gold bed is the most notable piece of furniture in the room, modelled on a medieval original drawn by Viollet-le-Duc. It is certainly an interesting piece of furniture and so are the chairs on either side although they don't look at all comfortable.
The advantage of such a bed, I suppose, is that it wouldn't be easy to fall out.
