This is the remains of the entrance gatehouse and you can, if you are travelling by car, drive through into the small free car park beyond. There is no charge for access to the ruins.
The ruins of this Benedictine Priory, founded in 1091, is well worth a visit.

These ruins are quite extensive and this view shows columns which formed the continuation of the current church nave. The building on the left is part of the current church which ends at the last visible buttress.

The ground plan of many of the original rooms and buildings still remain with some having been labelled to explain their purpose.
A lot of the houses in the village were built using stone from the priory during the 16th century.
