The county of Radnorshire (Sir Faesyfed) is also part of a larger administrative area known as Powys.

Radnorshire is a sparsely populated area with Landrindod Wells being the largest town. It forms part of the larger administrative area of Powys. Most of the county is mountainous with the Cambrian Mountains running through the west of the county and the highest point is at Radnor Forest at 2,166 ft. The chief towns are Knighton, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne and Rhayader with the main industries being tourism and hill farming, particularly sheep-raising.

There are many places of interest in very beautiful countryside including Offa's Dyke; an 8th century bank and ditch which runs from the south-wales coast to the north wales coast, a journey of 177 miles, roughly following the Welsh/English border.
