More of the Elan Valley, Rhayader, Radnorshire

The Craig Goch Dam seen from downstream. Construction on the dam began in 1897, it was completed in 1904, and it is the highest upstream of the series of dams in the Elan Valley.

The roadway, wide enough for one vehicle only, across the top of the Craig Goch Dam and there is parking room on the other side.
The track cut diagonally into the hillside starting behind the water tower and going off left eventually leads to the National Nature reserve but bear in mind that you will have to walk 5 or more miles to get there and back.
