A group of some of the smaller stones together with some visitors which give an idea of scale. The the outer bank, on the far side of the ditch, is visible in the background.

The stones which form the circle are all large but some of them are positively huge and can weigh up to 90 tons! The stone immediately to the left of the figure is one of the huge ones although the stone on the right isn't exactly small.

The two figures standing on top of the bank on the left show just how large the ditch is. The ditch encloses about 30 acres and it's original depth was around 33 feet.

Another view of part of the stone circle with the rampart at the back. Unlike Stonehenge the stones used here were not dressed but were used in their natural state.
